1. Intramuros


A fortress of Filipino history, the walled city of Intramuros was initially the center of Spanish Colonial Government during the 16th century. It has also been populated by tourists due to its strategic location that is close to several accommodations like Citystate Hotel in Manila. Taking a stroll within its compound will surely take your breath away as it shows you a glimpse of Manila’s glory days.

2. Paco Park


Now known to many as one of the capital’s most charming places, this historic park in Manila used to be a cemetery for the elites and aristocrats during the Spanish regime. Spanning almost 4000 sqm, this area now hosts on-stage performances and other cultural displays.

3. Fort Santiago


This remains to be one of the rather famous spots within Intramuros because it housed many prisoners during the second World War, including the country’s national hero, Jose Rizal. It even contains a shrine that that contains some memorabilia of the said hero.


4. Rizal Park



More popular as Luneta Park, this historic landmark was where Jose Rizal was executed in the year 1896. It cradles a huge shrine of the hero as its main centerpiece. It also holds ground to the country’s tallest flag pole where a huge Philippine flag is hoisted.

Though the start of the year is slowly moving towards the middle, summer is already starting to sink in. Time certainly flies by quickly, doesn't it? The residents and the tourists in Manila are starting to feel it too but that doesn’t stop us from sticking to our daily habits like going around the city or outside. It's inevitable to that we all want to go somewhere or try something new without hurting our wallets.

1) Go on a food trip in Binondo with your loved ones. If you're not expecting, you'll find plenty of affordable places to eat in this area.
